Following the moulding process, parts are transferred to a 5-axis CNC machining centre where profiles are milled and features machined to tight geometrical tolerances (±0.5mm), all of which are monitored using SPC methods. Parts are held in dedicated machining fixtures which ensure consistent and repeatable results are produced.
Fixture set ups are controlled via a machine tool probing systems which ensure times are kept to a minimum, and errors are drastically reduced.
Cutting programmes are created using state of the art CAD/CAM software generated from customer supplied parts. The use of such software allows Gurit to model, simulate and optimise machining operations offline.
